For such a small set of islands the channel islands seems to create sailors.
Here a listed a number of sailingb blogs from channel islanders either out their sailing and exploring or having returned leaving their blogs to inspire others:
My old scince teacher at mistweb (http://www.mistweb.force9.co.uk/) sailed his Vancouver 28 Rusalka Mist with his partner on an Atlantic circuit back in 1999/2000, hugely detailed and ahead of its time.
Author and guern sails his Broadblue 38 Troutbridge cat out of Guernsey via a couple of reefs to Fiji on route to a circumnavigation ?
A Jersey Family sail onboard their Nautitech 395 Catamaran from Greece on a circumnavigation.
Plenty of other have gone before and are out there but don’t also have blogs, if you know of any others let me know and I’ll update the list….
If you would like a great guide to the ports and marinas of the channel islands (and French coast) including photos I’d recommend digimap.gg. For sailing clubs in Jersey check out St.Helier Yacht club and the Royal Channnel Islands at St.Aubins. A visiting yachtsman’s guide to Jersey can be found over at the Ports of Jersey website.
John Frankland has produced a number of pilotage guides include one each for Herm, Sark and Guernsey. The quality is good and they are worth checking out over at his website GuernseyPilotage.com.
